Former BBC Young Musician of the Year finalist, Clare Hammond is well-known for her thoughtful and innovative programming, as well as her virtuosic performances. In a programme themed around water, she explores how composers for the piano have depicted fountains, waterfalls, pools and the sea. 2012 marks the 150th; anniversary of Debussy's birth. He was a master of water-depiction, so the festival has commissioned five living composers each to write their own short water-themed tributes to the Frenchman called Aquarelles. The five composers are James Francis Brown, Peter Fribbins, David Matthews, Alan Mills and Robin Walker.
